Welcome to Buttercups

This is where the journey begins!

I am Mrs Watts, the class teacher. I have recently become a trainee beekeeper and I am excited about looking after our 6,000 bees that we have onsite. 

I love being outside and going to Forest School is always the highlight of the week. 

Our team welcome you to Honeywell. We are an exciting and inclusive Reception class who love learning outdoors. During the school day the children will take part in whole class teaching sessions as well as teaching through focussed groups and independent application through play based activities. 

Reading 

We love reading in Buttercups. We learn to read using the Ruth Miskin reading scheme, Read Write Inc. We change our reading books on Monday and Friday, but we always encourage our children to take books home. We love Friday- we share a book and a biscuit with our parents 2.45-3.00 and they can help us change our reading books ready for the weekend. 

PE and Outdoor Learning

At Honeywell we love keeping fit and staying healthy. We have PE on a Wednesday afternoon. On Friday morning we have outdoor learning. Please send your child into school wearing suitable clothing for physical and outdoor activities. Wellies should stay in school at all time. These will be sent home each half-term for cleaning or replacing.
