Welcome to Year Five
I am delighted to write to you as we welcome the children into Year 5. During this year, children are encouraged to become more independent; take greater ownership of their learning and developing the confidence to think critically about the ideas they encounter. As the year progresses, we will be focusing on building strong foundations in both knowledge and skills, helping the children to prepare well for the demands of Year 6. Alongside academic progress, we will place a strong emphasis on resilience, curiosity and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. These qualities will support the children not only in school, but also in their wider development. I look forward to working in partnership with you to ensure that every child feels supported, challenged and inspired throughout Year 5.
