Welcome to Year Six
Year 6 is an exciting and memorable year as children take their final steps through primary school. It is a year filled with new opportunities, challenges and experiences, as children become role models for younger pupils and take on more responsibilities around school.
Throughout the year, we encourage our Year 6 pupils to become increasingly independent, confident and responsible. We want them to develop the skills, resilience and self-belief they need to make the very most of their final year with us and prepare for the next exciting chapter of their education.
In May, our children will take their KS2 SATs and we work hard throughout the year to ensure that every child is well prepared to allow them to achieve their very best.
Most importantly, Year 6 is about much more than SATs. We want our children to enjoy their final year of primary school, create wonderful memories, celebrate their achievements and leave us feeling proud of how far they have come.

Please also encourage your children to read daily. This is still very important in year six and will support them in building upon their fluency and comprehension skills as well as broadening their vocabulary.
