Partnerships with Parents
Parents
We strive to develop and maintain positive working relationships with our parents as the strength of the link between home and school has a huge impact on children and how they thrive in school. Communication is key, whether that is supported by class teachers being available at the door when the school gates open and at the end of the day; making an appointment to see our Family Support Worker; booking time for support with forms with our Senior Administrator; or having a meeting with a member of our friendly Senior Leadership Team. There is always a member of our staff team who will be able to support or signpost parents.
Each term there is a Reading Workshop and a Parents Workshop in each class for parents and carers to attend. It is a lovely way for parents and children to share activities and successes. If parents are not able to attend then staff are allocated to those children to ensure that they have someone to champion them and their achievements.
Parents Evenings are an important part of our communication with home and parents are invited in twice a year in October and February. In the Summer Term, reports are sent home for parents to reflect on their children's progress over the year.
School Nurse
Being a parent or carer is a very special but also difficult job at times and the school nursing team are there to help if needed. The nurse is well placed to build relationships with children, parents/carers and schools to help to improve the health and welfare of the children.
If you need any support or advice please contact the school office or the nurse directly; Aimee Elliot - 01905 681909.
